Maybe wait a day and post Immediate Impact – Announcement to Stop Cost Sharing Reduction (CSR) payments
Up to this point, CSR subsidies were provided by the federal Government to low-income Americans to assist them with their co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles. The White House announced yesterday that the Administration will no longer fund CSRs. While CSRs will no longer be funded, the Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC) used to offset the premium payment has not been affected by this announcement.
Impact to 2018:
Most insurance companies anticipated that CSR payments could stop for 2018 and adjusted its 2018 plan premiums to account for this change where permitted.
2018 plan benefits and cost shares will continue as approved and will not change as a result of the announcement.
